Stardate:2406.11.24 (USS Boudicca - Engineering - ACEO Enaj - 16:12) Saim had a feeling that there was something in the air. It had been too quiet for too long now. Something was sure to come along and cause mayhem. Saim really knew something bad was coming because Engineering was running much to smoothly. Whenever Saim got it just the way she liked it things went wrong. Everything was running like clockwork with only a few minor repairs here and there and Fredricks had smoothly made the transition to CEO. All this left Saim to tinker, or as she liked to call it in public, "refine". While Saim was leaning over the console in front of her, wondering if her new idea might work her comm pinged and Fredricks voice came through, =^=Fredericks to Ensign Saim, Report to the bridge immediately.=^= ~Here it comes~ Saim thought. Fredricks did not normally sound quite so determined. (Bridge - 1618) Within five minutes Saim walked onto the bridge. Fredricks promptly motioned her over to the observation lounge. (Observation Lounge - 1619) As soon as the doors hissed behind Saim Fredricks turned to her. "Saim, I know this is a little sudden but I need you to take over engineering for awhile. Something has come up and I am temporarily the acting First Officer and as such will need to remain on the bridge for extended periods. I will still be available if needed and will be at the engineering consol unless needed elsewhere. At the present I am not at liberty to explain what has happened but I will as soon as I can. Any questions?" Saim was slightly startled at this. Acting First Officer. What was wrong with West, the current FO? Hadn't she seen him as she came in? When Saim said nothing Fredricks continued. "All I can say is to stay on top of things and stay ready for anything that might happen. Dismissed." John then led the way out of the lounge and went back to his station. Once again Saim was out of the loop. She was getting very tired of that. From her crouch Saim held up her hand, "Hi, I'm Saim. These guys never seem to give it to me tidy, all neatly laid out. Can't say sure what happened but by all accounts this is the ruins of a shuttle and it was empty when it was blown up." Can't say sure what happened but by all accounts this is the ruins of a shuttle and it was empty when it was blown up." Maddie smiled. "It was probably put there by a bunch of men who obviously couldn't clean up after themselves if their lives depended on it." Then she giggled a little to show it was jsut a joke. She brushed her red hair back from her eyes. "I'm Maddie Munroe, by the way." Maddie pulled out her tricorder and began to scan the wreckage. She picked up a piece of metal between her thumb and forefinger and looked at it with disgusted interest. She dropped it and rubbed the dirt of her fingers on her pants. "It was obviously hit with a high enrgy disruptor type weapon that would indicate a... Starfleet vessel?" She showed the readings to Saim, for confimrmation. This was hardly her specialty. (reply Saim) Then she continued her scan, coming to the same conclusion. "Your right Saim, there was nothing alive on this vessel when it was destroyed. And it does appear to be the Mississippi." Maddie stopped when she said that. "If that's the case, then where's Captain Sevant?" It was either thousands of casualties or nothing. This night shift had been dead. Kinkaid had been on the Bridge, doing his shift, yet again. Michaella liked the fact that the Doctor was making the transition to command. It was good for him, good for his career. Maybe they'd one day make him Captain of a medical ship. Michaella herself had no designs upon command. ~God I'm bored~ The rumors were that some keltoi ship was firing on them and had abducted Sash. Michaella couldn't feel Sash on board, but then again he had excellent shields. Her comm link to the bridge had said he'd beamed over with that wretched Klingon. Michaella caught herself from shuddering. She did not like Klingons. They were just...nasty. Michaella, an aristocrat, refused to associate with ... it. She tried not to let her prejudice show, though, and thanfully when..it...had come into sickbay... it... had done so when Kinkaid was on duty. She sighed. She supposed that she should get Counselling to deal with this. It was irrational, this prejudice of hers. She didn't mind vulcans or some of the other races, so it wasn't like she was xenophobic or anything. ~No, Misha, you are klingon-phobic~ She thought with another sigh. Her mind began to wander back to the mixer when Sash had sat down beside her... he had made it clear that they were only friends, and that he valued that friendship a great deal. Then that red headed snippet of a Captain had walked in.... And Sash's eyes were drawn to her. Then they had left together, and then Hollis, sensing her distraction had left....and she hadn't seen him again. ~Mhmmmm Hollis...~ She thought, seeking out his mind. She smiled when she found it in meditation. She poked at the outside of it playfully, but not intrusive enough to disturb the meditation. If he wanted to come out and talk with her, that was fine. ~I guess...~ She thought to herself, suddenly lonely, ~That I'm just lonely. I guess I would feel better if the Counsellor was a telepath. Sometimes being human is such a handicap. I doubt they see it that way, though. ~ Her mind wandered back to Hollis. ::Hi.:: She sent to him, suddenly bashfully shy. Something always prodded him back to full consciousness. In frustration he had given up and decided to do some mental exercises, meditations some would call them to try to shut his brain down. He was in the middle of it when he felt something begin to tickle the edge of his conscious, it was a light touch so at first he thought it might have been his imagination, after a moment though it was repeated so he stopped what he was doing to concentrate on it. It stopped for a moment and he was about to shrug it off when it returned and since he was concentrating closely on it the owner of the touch decided to send along a little communication, it was very small though as though they were embarassed about it. ::Hi.:: :: Hello yourself.:: Holis thought back before it occured to him who the owner of it was. ::Ah Michaella! I'm sorry, I didn't recognize you at first even though we talked extensively the night of the party. He is probably trying to work on the same principle that we do. I guess we just need to work still at this problem.” Kateb told Jon. ~That’s a good idea, maybe I should get everything together to present to Zzt.~ Jon thought to himself. “Sorry to bother you. I am going to go back to my console and work on getting something ready for Zzt to look at.” Jon directed towards Onyx. Jon moved back towards his console. He felt guilty about bothering Onyx. He knew that the time that he spent pitching his theory could have been used more wisely. Jon began to compile his theory on his console, keeping his keen eye on the ship in front of them for any drastic movements. 5 minutes seemed to pass and Jon heard the doors of the turbolift hiss open. Hearing commotion going on, Jon turned around to see Zzt having a fit. He thought that now would be the most opportune time to present his theory to Zzt. The only thing stopping him, was the fear of being swatted by the bear-like man. It would be better to wait for things to calm down. The Course of about 15 minutes passed when Jon heard… =^= Sash to Nimitz, stand down. Password dark to light. =^= Jon’s theory was useless now. He actually thought that he might have had a plan that would have been put into a course of action. It also took some of the fun out of it. Jon enjoyed piloting the ship, and the maneuver the put on the Boudicca made him very proud. The last time he pulled a move like that, was at the academy during flight training. Nevertheless, Jon was still ready to pounce at any moment. He kept doing sensor sweeps for any incoming vessels. Nothing. Jon wanted to see some action, maybe when Captain Sash got back, he would be filled in on the mission. Jon waited patiently for any orders that might come his way. (Reply any on bridge) (Posted by Jon Carter) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz- Bridge- SO/SFI- Lt. Dru Tagon- 0245) The door to the turbolift finally opened for Tagon. He stepped off with a look of frustration on his face. "What's been holding up the turbo..." he stopped seeing Zzt's panic attack in full swing. The huge Gerratlian was spinning in circles shouting somethng about "Brain Parasites." As he watched and looked at the faces of the othershe realized that left unchecked he could hurt someone, or even worse, damage the bridge. One of the security officers on the bridge tried to approach Zzt, Tagon recognized Montiz. But the minute he was close enough, Zzt's spinning form sent him flying across the room. Tagon had had enough. He walked straight towards the whirling dirvish that was the CEO. Moving quickly he managed to grab hold of Zzt by the fur of his neck. With a swift blow, he smacked the Gerratlian across the snout. "That is enough," he snapped. Watching carefully he held onto Zzt, to see how he would react. (reply Zzt) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz, Bridge, CEO, Lt(sg) Zzt & SO/SFI Lt Dru Tagon, 0246) Zzt was still going on about the brain parasites when suddenly someone grabbed him by the nape of the neck and slapped him across the snout. Zzt howled, and reflexively slapped the offending hand away, and delivered a solid blow to Tagon's chest, forcing the Brikar to take several steps backwards. Then both paws went to his throbbing snout. "OWWW! You hit Zzt!" Zzt said, scowling down at Tagon, "Why you hit Zzt?" Tagon actually felt the blow from the Gerratlian and took several steps back to keep himself on his feet. It takes a lot to move a Brikar against his will, and Zzt was definitely one of those forces. He rubbed his chest, with a strange look on his face. Tagon looked up into the face of the irritated CEO. With his typical impassive voice he replied, "It seemed to be a good idea at the time." Zzt scowled, still rubbing his snout. "No do that again," he said waving a claw at Tagon while he rubbed his snout with his other paw. Zzt then looked around at everyone staring at him with eyes wide. "What?" Zzt asked, looking behind him over each shoulder to make sure there wasn't something behind him before looking back at Tagon and the rest of the bridge crew. Tagon shrugged, "I hadn't really planned to. However, you did seem to be a bit... distressed." This was now starting to get disconcerting as people, or possibly the bridge, could potentially be hurt by the fuzzy behemouth. ~How did Zzt pass the Starfleet psych exam?~ thought Paul as he looked over at Ensign Harrison, who was watching in awe. ~Nevermind... stupid question.~ With that Paul quickly started run through options... then Lt. Tagon walked onto the bridge. Tagon's eyes were fixed at the CEO, Paul tried to read the look on the Lieutenant's face but typically there was none. Then suddenly, the Lieutenant walked over and smacked the bearlike creature across the snout. ~How humiliating... just like I would do to the dogs at home when I was growing up if they misbehaved. I wonder if the CEO understands the significance...~ Suddenly, Lieutenant Tagon, who had the CEO firmly in hand said, "That is enough!" Paul took a swift intake of breath and held it, waiting to see how Zzt would react. He moved his hand to the bridge alert section of the control panel, ready to summon a heavily armed security team to the bridge if a potentially destructive battle ensued. During general alert status, he couldn't allow the bridge to be affected, it was bad enough that this event had drawn attention away from the situation at hand. "I'll give you the short version, if it’s easier." Edward paused for a moment of thought and then rolled his eyes. “Shoot Ensign,” "This man has been through a lot. Even more than Commander West. His entire family has been murdered, he himself has died - the details are here, sir," Edward glared at the ensign. ~How the hell does that ship function, if the CO and FO are both basket cases,~ Edward thought to himself. On that the Ensign continued giving his report. "The loss of his wife and children caused him to breakdown temporarily. He did seek vengeance, but the mental anguish wore off before he went through with it. He has been through months of counselling, apparently successfully. He's been decorated several times for taking command of bad situations. Really bad ones." "Put simply, sir, this man has been through more than most men put together. It is always possible that he could have another breakdown - they are sometimes delayed for months or years, while the pain builds inside the individual. That said, the only sign of such behaviour is the temporary outburst after the death of his wife and children. In every other traumatic situation, he has handled it well and come out on top. Albeit a highly romanticised description, but the man is the closest thing to a 'war hero' that I've come across. While it is possible that he has done a 'disappearing act', as you suggested, there is no history of similar voluntary disappearing, nor do believe it in his character to abandon his ship and his crew." “Right that’s good that leaves us with abduction or murder, I prefer those odds in all fairness,” Edward stated jokingly, realising he lacked the human sense of humour he continued. “Cheers for that John knock yourself out with what ever you need to do now,” Edward stated smiling. (Reply Harrison) Edward sat in the comfortable seat and realised he had been doing the same thing whilst left in charge here. He half wished that this Kur would attack his HoD so he would have a reason to remove him. He has insulted the crew of the nimitz and its captain to a point that it was hard not to avenge such insults. If this Kur had been on a klingon ship things would be so much different. K'ven was not on a ship of his kind, so, he had to learn to hold his anger in check until he was able to release it in an honorable way. So, he made sure that Sash never was too far from him where he would be able to protect him. He was constantly assessing the surroundings for any possible threats and listening to the conversation. This Commander West was speaking of trust and as of yet he had done nothing to garner any from K'ven or for that matter, Captain Sash. It would seem that this Commander had no real experience as a CO as it showed in his constantly falling back from a stand point of strength. You did what you did and don't continually appologize for it. Klingons would have counted it as an act of preservation, seeing that had no idea that another ship was on it' s route to them. But, then again, as K'ven thought about it, this commander should have given the Nimitz a second thought as he should have known they were on the same side. There had been no reports that the nimitz had been captured or went back to the other side. "It appears we are to work together and seeing as how Captain Sevant is missing, time seems not to be on our side. You are the ranking officer and I would like to hear your suggestions on how we can retrieve the Captain alive and in one piece." K'ven felt Sash tense up as the stunning knews that Sevant was missing, came out. K'ven had read up on this Captain Sevant and was impressed with him. It was hard to impress K'ven but this Vulcan had been through a lot to be where he had ended up. K'ven was more unsure of this Commander that would let his HoD leave this ship without the proper escort. K'ven continued to listen closely to the conversation. "Sevant is missing? When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me?" Then the realization as to why the Boudicca had fired on the Nimitz became clear, "And you thought..." Sash could only shake his head. "Good God man, do you really think I'd be stupid enough to capture Captain Sevant and then come back here like this? Ask Lt Stolev, Captain Sevant and I are ... well, for lack of a better word, friends. At the least, we served together." After a few moments, K'ven watched as Sash regained his usual composure to start thinking again. "Forgive me Lt. Commander," Sash said calmly, "it was just such a surprise. There's no point of going over what's already happened, let's go on from here. Can you tell me what you've found out yet?" K'ven would never relax when around a strange crew, but, Sash had apparently. K'ven just continued to watch and listen to the explanation of what ever evidence that they may have. Still he could not believe that he had let Sevant just leave by himself on the so called mission. Finally this west brought his ship out of red alert and Sash also informed Commander Gideon to stand down. K'ven would not have, but, he was a Klingon. He did not understand how Starfleet became such a power with actions such as these. He listened to the instructions he gave to Gideon and he wondered what Gideons impression was on the events. He would have to discuss them with him later to try and understand them more. "I should be returning soon, Sash out." Then Sash asked the question that burned in K'ven, "You should have some help over here shortly. Can I ask where Captain Sevant was heading, and why he was away from the ship, so close to the border, without an escort or some kind?" (USS Boudicca, - Bridge - Sogh la' SutaI K'ven - 0305) As the conversation had finished and plans had been made to continue the search, they left the ready room. Sash had promised that some engineers from the nimitz would be over to help them in finding out any information they could as to what happened to Sevant. Just as West was about to escort them to the transporter room, K'ven noticed that West suddenly became agitated and excused himself. Both he and Sash entered the turbolift to make their way to the transporter room. Leaning over as to be able to somewhat whisper to Sash, "What do you surmise about this Lt. Commander West?" (Sash) "I do not trust him." K'ven grunted as he straightened back up after listening to what Sash had to say. Trevan tapped his badge, "West to Bridge, Stand down from Red Alert and go to Yellow Alert." he closed the channel. As far as I know, Captain Sevant was responding to a message from, shall we say, a former member of the Boudicca, with some sort of intel for us. He was to go alone without an escort or the mission would be a bust. That is why we were hanging on the edge of the system until his distress call." Trevan responded, "Any idea on what it is or who it is?" "Uncertain, but it's heading towards this location, I can't tell what type at this distance," Ryko said. "Very well, go to red alert and send your reports to the Nimitz as well. "1 Light-year and closing," "Go to full scan, if it was a starship I am sure we would know by now, probably a probe of somesort." It obviously sorted out the bear however the actions were very peculiar and where the hell did it come from. Edward signalling for the councillor he waited for him to come over. "John, have a word with Mr Zzt find out where his little break out came from. I doubt Mr Tagon is that bothered but still, I want to know why he had that outbreak on the bridge." (Reply Harrison) "And if you need to feel free to sedate him!" Edward stated. (Reply Harrison) Edward pausing in thought saw Tagon and looked at him and grinned. The image of a Rock and a Bear fighting was going to remain in his mind for a very long time to come and proberly his Childrens minds if he ever got around to having them. "I thought you were tough Tagon?" (Reply Tagon) "Well good work for calming him down he was giving me a headache. Are the two security officers ok?" (Reply Tagon) "Good, however I think they might want to skin the bear," Edward paused for a moment and then spoke again. “Can you man the security consol and continue to monitor any signals from the Boudicca. Any communications or signals I want to know about please Lieutenant,” (Reply Tagon) Edward sat back in the seat, the Boudicca was surpose to be a friend, the Captain was safe, the ship was safe and he had not caused too many incidents. Not a bad half a hour. As far as I know, Captain Sevant was responding to a message from, shall we say, a former member of the Boudicca, with some sort of intel for us. He was to go alone without an escort or the mission would be a bust. That is why we were hanging on the edge of the system until his distress call." Trevan continued, " I have an Engineering team working on the debris now and I expect a report from them shortly. Beyond that, I can't tell you anything because that is all I know." Sash wasn't particularly happy to hear West's story. A CO, leaving his ship in a precarious place, on an intlligence gathering mission, without any mention of his destination. He might aswell have painted a huge sign on his shuttle saying "Attack Me!" Sevant should have known better. he's too experienced. Unless, of course, the source was someone that he would never expect to betray him. "I'd like to have a look at your crew roster, past, aswell as present. I'd also like to have somebody go over the captain's messages. It's times like this I wish I hadn't let Falthgood go with the Mystique." Trevan stood up, "Very well, I will look forward to having your engineering crew help us out. Also if you could send over some science team members to shore up our end here. We are a battle ship and don't have very many scientists here. Our CSO is amazing but I am sure the extra help would be welcome." Trevan extended his hand to shake the Captain's Sash took the hand and squeezed it firmly. "I'll see what I can do Lt. Commander. Please keep me informed as to any information you discover." Sash looked at K'ven, who still looked as if he'd rather run West through with his knife, than even look at him. "Commander K'ven, shall we head back the Nimitz?" K'ven just grunted and nodded, giving West just one more menacing glare for the road. They left the ready room, heading back to trasporter room. Saash thought how strange it was that mere moments ago they were on the verge of blowing the living daylights out of each other, and now, here he was, walking through the Boudicca, totally unsupervised. ~It's a very strange universe we live in.~ K'ven leaned over and whispered to Sash, "What do you surmise about this Lt. Commander West?" Sash looked at him with interest. "What do you mean?" "I do not trust him." K'ven grunted. This didn't surprise Sash. He figured that K'ven probably didn't trust his own mother. "Let's give him the benefit of the doubt, for now," Sash told him. "However, keep a close eye on the Boudicca and her actions. If somethingis wrong here, i want to know before they know we know." He looked at K'ven, as if that actually made sense. K'ven just nodded as they entered the transporter room. (USS Nimitz - Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash- 0319) Sash and K'ven stepped off the turbolift onto the bridge. For Sash, it felt good to be home. Gideon stood up and greated them. Sash nodded his acknowldgement. "It's good to be back. Report." (Gideon) "Excellent." Sash sat down in his seat to think for a moment. When report of the incoming probe was called out. Sash turned to look at Kateb. "What do you have Ensign?" (reply Kateb) Dumas turned around, "Incomong message fromthe Boudicca Captain." "On screen," Sash replied. =^=Captain, as you are aware there is a sensor probe coming in, origins unknown. (USS Nimitz - Ready Room- CO- Captain Devan Sash- 0323) "Sit down gentlemen," Sah said as he rounded his desk and sat down himself. "Well, sufice it to say that my trip to the Boudicca was, if nothing else, interesting. We have a problem. What I'm about to tell youis in the strictest of confidence. i do not want it leaving this room. It will get out soon enough, but I don't want it coming from here." Sash realized that he had prefaced what he was about to say in a manner that sounded odd. However he plugged on. "Captain Sevant, of the Boudicca ismissing. Apparently he went on a fact finding mission and his shuttle was attacked. Apparently, there was no evidence that Captain Sevant was still aboard the shuttle when it was destroyed. so the big question is, where's Sevant." He stopped for a moment to look at his two officers. "Gentlemen, we are abbout to go looking for a needle in a haystack. It just happens to be the universe's smallest needle, in the universe's largest haystack. He had thought of cracking a joke along the lines of "Zzt, my friend, if it's brain parasites, you'll be in little danger", but he imagined that the Engineer would fail to see the humour and instead decide to snap him in two. He noticed Gideon signalling for him to come over, so he walked up to him. “John, have a word with Mr Zzt find out where his little break out came from. With eleven hours of a shift behind him, he discovered that his legs, his back, and his neck ached from the stress of the extended period of heigthened awareness. It didn’t look like the two vessels would be shooting at one another, after all, but the realization brought further fatigue along with relief as the adrenaline drained out of the ensign’s system. The ASCO had just begun to think about the possibility of grabbing a few hours’ worth of sleep when the tactical officer gave his warning. Commander West – now fully in charge of the bridge again – called for red alert and notified the Nimitz of the presence of what Ryko had identified was a probe of some sort. ~So much for sleep,~ Caleb inwardly groused as the piercing klaxons fired again. Caleb understood that Commander West was wanting to focus on the wreckage of the Mississippi, but the ACSO had already scanned everything within reasonable proximity to the Boudicca. Astrometrics still didn’t have any useful findings, so the ensign decided to focus on the probe. A tweak here, a tweak there, a power boost here, and Caleb felt his mouth go dry. “Commander West,” he spoke, a bit uncertainly, “we might want to get a head start on that retreat, sir. The probe appears to be passive, but is certainly of Federation design. If it’s not ours, and it’s not the Nimitz’s…” He left unsaid the obvious. ~Then it belongs to someone we’d rather not let know that we are here.~ Was someone watching to see who would respond to the runabout’s mayday? "Acknowledged. Stolev out." He then headed for his office to resume his review of potential away team personnel. The odds were good that an away team would be needed to mount a rescue mission at some point, so he wanted to be fully prepared for that eventuality. (USS Boudicca - Security office - TAC/ASC Stolev - 0323) Sasha leaned back in his chair and fired his third empty cup of coffee towards the recycling chute. It clunked harmlessly off the lip and fell to the floor. As he stood to retrieve his misfired debris, he tapped his comm badge. "Stolev to Major Stratton." (reply Stratton) "Major, as I'm sure you're aware, the odds are good that we will need to mount some sort of rescue mission to retrieve the Captain once we locate him," explained Sasha. "If you don't mind, I'd like to meet with you and/or Lt. Major Drizzt to discuss potential marine involvement in any such mission. Do you think we could meet briefly before the senior staff meeting at 0400? Say, at 0330 here in Security?" (reply Stratton) "Great, see you then. Stolev out." He then tapped his badge again. "Stolev to Skylynx." (reply Skylynx) "I'm getting together with the marine officers shortly to discuss potential rescue mission scenarios. I know you're probably busy on the bridge but thought I'd inform you in case you wanted to attend. 0330 down here in Security." (reply Skylynx) "Aye, sir. Stolev out." Sasha got back to his desk and sat down, then thought of one more person to call. "Stolev to Ensign Stevens. Please report to security at 0330. We'll be meeting with the marines to discuss potential rescue mission scenarios and I'd like your input as well. Stolev out." News travels fast on a starship, especially bad news. he'd rather the Gerratllian heard it from himself than just as a rumor. He tapped his comm badge. She listened and was relieved that he gave the right password, precaution that she asked him to take. ~I'm happy that I had that password set up since the very beginning of his command, didn't know that we would need it this soon.~ Onyx was nearly ready to power off the weapons but waited for the official orders to do so and standing down from red alert. Edward turned around and told her. “Onyx please stand down from red alert,” Edward stated. “Standing down from red alert and lowering the power to the weapons.” In this area of space, she wanted to be ready quickly for action. We also need to know what possible capabilities it has in case it needs to be destroyed." He looked around at the others on the bridge as he lowered his voice. "It may be carrying a message, try to get a copy of it if it does not come to us which I do not think it will." “I'm already working on that, but the probe is to far for now.” Onyx turned to ward the Captain who was listening. “Captain I suggest that we launch a probe to go in front of us and encounter it. In order to boost the chances of a successful study as well as cut down on the time it would take to finish those investigations he added a subroutine from his private files and so it was 15 minutes after he had begun rather than 45 minutes when results were beginning to pour in. Holis watched closely then leaned back in his chair with satisfaction, it was only a piece of the puzzle which he had been asked to supply but a substantial piece at that. He turned to the command chair and snared Commander Gideon's attention. "Commander I have some preliminary results for you." (Reply: Edward Gideon) "According to the data the Boudicca has been in this system for several solar days and there have been numerous launches of small craft. Readings seem to show all craft have returned to the Boudicca except for one." He turned back to the readout and squinted down at it in deep thought. (Reply: Edward Gideon) "The course of the one craft comes to an abrupt end, as though it were picked up or destroyed. I'm also reading the presence of another ship within the system recently, it intersected the course of the fighter or shuttle then left the system." (Reply: Edward Gideon) "It's too early yet sir to make any extrapolations on the Boudicca's course before she entered the system, it will take some time before that data has been sufficiently broken down enough to begin seeing the big picture but I will give you an update as soon as I know anything." "According to the data the Boudicca has been in this system for several solar days and there have been numerous launches of small craft. Readings seem to show all craft have returned to the Boudicca except for one." “About that one craft then Doctor,” Edward stated realising that’s where the focus must fall. "The course of the one craft comes to an abrupt end, as though it were picked up or destroyed. I'm also reading the presence of another ship within the system recently, it intersected the course of the fighter or shuttle then left the system." “Can you extrapolate the design of the ship or the Boudicca’s prior course?” Edward enquired. "It's too early yet sir to make any extrapolations on the Boudicca's course before she entered the system, it will take some time before that data has been sufficiently broken down enough to begin seeing the big picture but I will give you an update as soon as I know anything." “Very well Doctor, no doubt you will produce more results. Even though the Captain had ordered the ship to stand down Edward was still not comfortable with these new allies. The ship had fired with out provocation; this was still weighing heavy on his mind. "It's good to be back. Report." Edward rose from the Captain’s chair and straightened his tunic from the ruffled nature it had become whilst sitting. “All is quiet on the western front sir,” Edward stated smiling. “Good to have you back in one piece sir,” Edward stated once more moving over to the security consol once more. Remaining silent he watched the situation begin to unravel with the sensor probe. Following the template of his genetic brothers the El’Aurians Edward listened to the situation rather than getting involved. "Lt. Commander, I need to see you in my ready room. He sat down in the chair going over the visit they did to the Boudicca. It disgusted him to see such an imbecile in command of such a warship as that. He knew that West did not have the slightest idea how to use it. The Boudicca would have been better suited in the hands of a Klingon Captain. Grunting at his thoughts, he turned his attention back to study the Boudicca, watching to see if it made any movements that he thought was not right. He half wished it would, but, looking at her he knew that the Nimitz probably would not come out of it. If West stayed in command, then the full aspects of the Boudicca would not be utilized and the nimitz would at least hurt it before having to retreat. ~Retreat~ K'ven hated that would, warriors rarely left the battle for any reason unless it is to attack from another angle. As he watched the Boudicca, K'ven thought that soon he needed to send a report in to let them know what was his thoughts on the matter between the different factions of Starfleet. So far as he has seen it, there has been no dishonorable act perpetrated by the Nimitz and he was unsure as to the current situation with this Captain Sevant. He knew about Captain Sevant, but, what exactly had happened to him was at this point unknown. It could have been an act that would have been done during war or it could have been done underhandedly. The information that he had gathered from his stay on the Nimitz so far, indicated that this Doenitz had indeed perpetrated the atrocities that he has been accused of. He had as of yet to see any actual evidence that Admiral LoDona has that was brought back to him by a Captain Rivers. She and Admiral Aragorn had supposedly gathered the information. That was about as far as he could penetrate in that subject area without being caught. After spending time with Onyx the first time, K'ven had learned that not all federation people were untrustworthy. For the longest time he had the oppinion that Starfleet and the federation was a bunch of cowards or at the very least dishonorable people. His great grandfather had tried to impart that to his kids and grand kids, but, with the interaction that they had with the Klingon empire, it mostly clouded the issue. The knowledge that he had imparted had been bread out of them by the time he was born basically. Growling at his memories, he refocused on the task at hand. (reply from Onyx(iyw), any) (posted by Frank) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - StratOps - Sogh la' SutaI K'ven - 0345) K'ven had moved over to the Mission Control Console (MCC) to watch what was happening with the probe they had sent out. He had also been watching the probe that was on its way to them and wondered whether it was an intelligence probe or one that would be delievering a message about this Sevant. It probably would be feasible that they could figure out where it possibly came from. If they could it would give them a direction to head in and possibly be able to rescue Sevant in a relatively short time. As he watched the probe get closer to the incoming one, something happened that he had not been wanting to see. The information that their probe sent back was that it lost track on the incoming probe then reacquired it in another location. The probe had to manuever a drastic course correction to again head in its direction. This could mean that there were more than one probe that was coming and they were cloaking and decloaking to confuse any probes sent their way. But, then again there was another reason that could be why they were acting like that and he had only read about them in the confidencial reports that the council had acquired. If it was that, one or both of these ships were going to be destroyed. He wanted another to see what he was watching, so it would not be just his word on this. He turned to Onyx to see if she was seeing the same thing, but, as it looked she must be seeing something different or she held her awe of the sight in check for now. "Ensign Kateb, I need you to see something over here." K'ven called out to her. (Onyx) He watied till she was standing next to him then he pointed to the two dots on the screen. "Look there and there" he told her, "Watch and see" Just then one of the dots blinked out of existence then reappeared in another spot. "Have you seen anything like that before?" He asked her hoping maybe she would have seen something and would know how to counter it. (Onyx) "Well I have come across some reports that had talked about something of this type. From what I have read, it is something to be feared as it is hard to destroy as it is small and fast." K'ven informed her with a grunt that told his dissatisfaction at the fact. (Oynx) "I don't even believe your weapons are fast enough to target and fire before it dissappears each time. Look here, it jumps in ramdom locations making no sense in the pattern." He pointed out to her as they watched. "From what I have read, this type of probe is to do one thing and that is to destroy whatever it was programed to destroy." (Oynx) "I think the captain needs to know this." K'ven growled (reply Onyx, any) (posted by Frank) Stardate:2406.11.25 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - StratOps - Sogh la' SutaI K'ven - 0350) "I think the captain needs to know this." K'ven growled "Return to your station and continue scanning the two Probes. If anything changes from what we have seen, inform me immediately." K'ven barked at her as he turned toward the captain. He knew that this was the type of information that the he wanted and as soon as it was found. The sooner the information was disseminated the better things could turn out. (Onyx) "HoD, I have something that you should see." K'ven barked at Sash. He waited to see if Sash would come up to look at his console or have it Channeled to the bridge view screen. (Sash) "Sir, the dot in green is our probe and the one in red is the so called probe that has been incoming. Over the past minutes I have been tracking what both probes have been doing." He replayed the sensor readings that he had recorded to show what had happened when their probe got close to the incoming probe. "As you can see, as soon as the sensor probe got too close, it seemed, the incoming probe started doing some strange maneuvers. There, see it?" He looked at he captain to see if he had caught the first maneuver the incoming probe accomplished. (Sash) "See how it had quickly disappeared then reappeared where the probe had to make a drastic change in its own course?" K'ven growled with what seemed to maybe be a bit of admiration for the makers of the probe. "Now, that maneuver could be one of two things maybe, one that there are more than one and they are cloaking and decloaking in order to confuse probes. Second, it could be the one probe that I have read reports on from the intelligence operatives in the Empire. This one was a weapons delivery platform that could out maneuver any know weapon system and could not be targeted as it is never in one position for any length of time. In the later, one or both of these ships could be destroyed if we don't figure out a way to destroy it. It appears that when it reappears it automatically reacquires its target or verifies its direction and then disappears once again." (Sash) "My feelings on this probe?" K'ven was not use to giving feelings really, he gave intelligent assumptions base on more information than he had a the moment. But, he did have one assumption. "Sir, I feel that one or both of these ships will be destroy withing the hour." (Sash) (reply from Onyx, Sash, any) (posted by Frank)
